ABC Daycare Endeavor
"We are pleased to announce that within the past few months a group of Early Childhood Education graduates from Aurora Borealis College has set up a government funded animal daycare center at "the Club". For this, we are all indebted to the Federal Government which five years ago created Aurora Borealis College (ABC) here in Pond Inlet to enable the people of the north to share some of the advantages enjoyed by their southern countrymen. Unfortunately, all the children in the community are already being cared for by their mothers and families, and so there is no existent call for daycare centers. In an effort to find some outlet for their newly acquired skills, and with the support of the Department of Northern Affairs, the graduates conducted a survey which pointed up the very real need for an animal pre-school program. We are pleased to have the ABC Daycare Endeavor located at the Baffin Island Golf and Country Club. The Governor General, during her visit to officially open the ABCDE was kind enough to confer upon it the motto -ET HOC GENUS OMNE- . We are presently waiting for the Department of Education to send us the official translation."
ABCDE accepts all without distinction, but we do have a few students from notable families. The youngster who you see on your left is the son of the bear whose picture has graced soft drink cans the world over. His father is a long-time member of our club.
